Water Damage in Commercial Building Bathrooms in Lincoln City, OR

Water damage is usually caused from large rain storms, flooding or unnoticed leaks in a residential or commercial building. If a small leak goes unnoticed for a long time this will result into water damage on the affected materials such as drywall, flooring, furniture , etc. Water damage that is unnoticed can also lead to visible microbial growth due to the elevated moisture in the compromised materials and structure. This is why it’s essential to call a professional water restoration company like Disaster Master as soon as you notice the water damage.  Disaster Master will respond quickly to the water damage to help solve the problem and prevent further damage.

Recently in Lincoln City, Oregon there was commercial building bathroom that was affected by the ground water from outside running directly into an exterior wall. The property manager of this facility called Disaster Master right away to help mitigate the water damage. The water damage was in the men’s and women’s bathroom and the hallway. Disaster Master responded within one hour to this emergency water damage job. The first step was to extract the water off all the floors in the affected areas. Antimicrobial was sprayed on the affected areas to help sanitize. Drying equipment such as a dehumidifier and two air movers were set up to help dry the floors and sheetrock in the bathroom. In the back of the building where the run off water was affecting the bathroom was a large amount of blackberry bushes. So, Disaster Master helped clear out the blackberry bushes and installed twelve XL sandbags to help prevent the water from intruding. One sample from the bathroom sheetrock was tested for asbestos prior to doing the flood cuts. The sample tested negative so this gave clearance for Disaster Master to remove the affected sheetrock and insulation. Once Disaster Master opened up the wall they noticed a rat tail hanging out so the inner wall cavities were cleaned out and sanitized with antimicrobial. Lastly, drying equipment was set up for 3 more days to help expedite drying the walls. The property manager was very satisfied with the work that Disaster Master did because it helped her mitigate the water damage and prevented mold from growing in the affected bathrooms and hallway.
